Hi, I’m Nikki Wilson!

I’m the owner and operator of Red Tail Gardens. In 2009, I started my garden maintenance business, La Jardinera Gardening, and with great gratitude, I’m in the process of refocusing my passion, talents, and services toward a new venture, cut flower farming.

I’ve been gardening and designing landscapes in Durango, CO since 2007 and received my Master Gardener certificate in 2009. I’m also a proud graduate of Fort Lewis College, love the wide world of horticulture, and one day look forward to getting my falconry license.

Over the years, I’ve developed a strong passion for my craft, working with clients on everything from digging irrigation ditches, installing sod, and hardscaping, to landscape consulting and design, to simply brainstorming with DIY clients who need help kick starting their own projects. It’s my sincere pleasure to work in the place I love most and I’m so proud to provide locally and organically grown flowers to my own community.

About Red Tail Gardens

In 2017, I was given the incredible opportunity to grow my own cut flowers! — But it wouldn’t be without a lot of hard work and sweat equity. I’ve taken one acre of what used to be an abandoned tree farm, and turned it into a vibrant and scenic space to produce locally grown blooms. Be sure to check out some of my photos to see the transformation!
